NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), in association with the Sahodaya School Complexes of Delhi/NCR, is holding the 4th National Summit on "Facilitating School-to-Work Transition" in New Delhi on October 26 and 27. The two-day summit aims to strengthen the integration of skill education with mainstream schooling and to ease students' transition from school to the world of work, and brings together school leaders, educators, industry experts and policymakers.

Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), T. K. Anil Kumar, and CBSE Chairman Dr. Mandeep Bhandari were present, along with other senior officials of the Ministry and CBSE, according to a press release issued by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) on October 26.

Speaking at the summit, Anil Kumar outlined four priorities: technology, digital safety and skills as the first, design, creativity and innovation as the second, recognition of skills across education systems through the National Credit Framework as the third, and career guidance with equitable pathways as the fourth. He called for a seamless transition from school education to higher education, skilling and employment, so that learners can make informed choices, pursue lifelong growth, contribute to society and live with dignity.

Through interactive sessions and expert discussions, the summit is enabling participants to explore innovative pedagogical practices, emerging assessment approaches, digital integration in education and effective models for strengthening skill education. Educators from CBSE-affiliated schools are presenting case-based papers and posters on success stories and best practices in skill education. The summit also offers networking opportunities so that participants can build partnerships and seek guidance and support from one another.

The summit underscores the importance of breaking down barriers among different streams of education and equipping students with the competencies needed for an evolving employment landscape, as envisioned in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
