Bhavan's BVM Ashti celebrates 80th Independence Day

NAGPUR: Bhavan's Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Ashti, celebrated India's 80th Independence Day on August 15, 2026. The programme was graced by Commodore Anand Abhyankar, Veteran of the Indian Navy, as Chief Guest.
Guests included Davandeep Dhingra and Dr Murtuza Akhtar, SMC Members, and EPTA Members Priyanka Sahu, Pooja Somkuwar, Sandeep Agrawal and Gayatri Dhandhare.
The proceedings were conducted by student anchors Yukta Gomase, Sinchan Mandal, Vedang Singh, Shreya Tiwari, Pratigya Chawla, Sayee Pathrabe and Pranshu Joshi. The ceremony included Vande Mataram, the hoisting of the National Flag and the National Anthem, and the Maharashtra Geet.
The programme featured a March Past demonstrating student discipline and team spirit, the Addiction-Free Students, Addiction-Free Maharashtra Pledge, and a Patriotic Group Song.
Arpan Jaiswal delivered a speech in English. A Veer Marathe dance performance, choreographed by Dance Teacher Madhumita Chuckerbutty, showcased the valour and spirit of Maratha warriors. The programme included the presentation of Academic Achievement Certificates in all subjects and special awards, including the Bhupinder Singh Dhingra Memorial Award for Excellence in Social Science and the Bapuji Rao Shirbhate Memorial Award for Excellence in Marathi.
Chief Guest Commodore Anand Abhyankar addressed the gathering, appreciating the patriotic fervour and the overall presentation. He noted the potential of the students to become responsible citizens of the country.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Chandni.
