Bhavan's BVM Ashti commemorates Kargil Vijay Diwas with Armed Forces veterans

NAGPUR: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Ashti, Nagpur, commemorated Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 27, 2026 with a solemn programme.

Commodore Anand Abhyankar, Veteran of the Indian Navy, was the Chief Guest. Group Captain Sharadchandra R. Sayil, Veteran of the Indian Air Force, and Colonel Vikas Chander Sharma, Veteran of the Indian Army, were present.

The programme opened with the arrival of the guests, followed by a Guard of Honour from NCC cadets. Commodore Abhyankar paid homage to the Amar Jawan. A ceremonial lighting of the lamp and Amar Jyoti followed.

Boy cadet Riddant Pardhi and girl cadet Setika Kadam delivered speeches honouring the soldiers of the Kargil War. Commodore Abhyankar addressed the gathering and spoke about patriotism, courage, discipline, leadership and service to the nation.

Teachers and students paid tribute to the Amar Jawan. NCC cadets presented a patriotic song. The Chief Guest distributed NCC 'A' Certificates to cadets who completed NCC training.

Group Captain Sharadchandra R. Sayil and Colonel Vikas Chander Sharma conducted a Career Guidance Session on opportunities in the Armed Forces.

Students Dhanishtha Baid and Aarav Singh anchored the programme in both Hindi and English. Principal Vandana Bisen addressed the gathering. Jawahar Suryawanshi and Aanchal Naidu were thanked for organising the programme. Manish Ashtekar delivered the vote of thanks.
