Bhavan's BVM Ashti hosts two-day Communication Skills Capacity Building Workshop

NAGPUR: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Ashti, hosted a two-day Capacity Building Workshop on Development of Communication Skills on June 17 and 18, 2026.

The workshop was graced by Resource Person Susmita Roy Choudhury, Dean Academics at G D Goenka Public School, Jammu. Dignitaries present included Annapoorni Shastri, director of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Nagpur Kendra, Arunima Majumdar, director of training at Bhavan's Teacher Training Centre Nagpur Kendra, and Anju Bhutani, Academic Coordinator.

The workshop included sessions on foundations of effective communication, barriers to communication, speaking skills, listening and pronunciation, non-verbal communication and body language, classroom interaction and student engagement, writing for classroom communication, and action planning. Participants engaged in interactive activities, discussions, presentations and reflective exercises to gain practical strategies to enhance communication and create more engaging learning environments.

Christopher Paul and Payal Raina anchored the programme. Chandni Mathur proposed the vote of thanks, followed by the National Anthem.

A total of 88 participants from all Bhavan's branches participated in the workshop. Principal Vandana Bisen guided the event under her able supervision, with Smita Vishwakarma and the entire BVM Ashti staff contributing significantly to its success.
