Bhavan's BVM Ashti receives Certificate of Excellence and Incentive Grant

NAGPUR: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Ashti, was honoured with a Certificate of Excellence and an Incentive Grant for its performance in various school sports competitions organised by the District Sports Office, Nagpur, under the Directorate of Sports and Youth Services, Maharashtra State.
The school secured Second Position in the Under-17 Boys and Girls category in the School Sports Competitions for the academic year 2022–23. In recognition of this achievement, the Maharashtra Government sanctioned an incentive grant of Rs 62,654 under its scheme aimed at promoting and strengthening sports activities at the school level.
The Certificate Distribution Ceremony was held at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Auditorium on February 24, 2026, where the District Collector presented the Certificate of Excellence to the school. The programme was organised by the District Sports Office, Nagpur, to honour schools that have excelled in sports and contributed significantly to the development of athletics at the school level.
The incentive grant will be utilised for the development of sports infrastructure and facilities, including maintenance of sports grounds, purchase of sports equipment and literature, training of players, honorarium for coaches, and provision of uniforms and awards for students.
Principal Vandana Bisen expressed gratitude to the Maharashtra Government and the District Sports Office, Nagpur, for recognising the school's achievement. She also appreciated the efforts of the Sports Department, including Prashant Hadke, Dr. Sandeep Harnal, Mamta Mohanto, Aanchal Naidu, Rishabh Pandey, Sonal Renge and Praful Gajbhiye, and the coaches for their guidance and planning.
