NAGPUR: The students of Grade II (Orchid) of Delhi Public School Kamptee Road conducted an assembly on the occasion of Shivaji Jayanti, commemorating the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

The assembly featured the thought for the day, 'Self confidence is the foundation of success.' Students presented an account of Shivaji Maharaj, noting his birth in 1630 at Shivneri Fort and highlighting his courage, leadership and the establishment of the Maratha Empire.

A skit depicted the relationship between Shivaji and his mother Jijabai, portraying how her guidance and values shaped him into a brave, honest and just ruler.

A dance presentation on patriotic songs concluded the assembly with a message encouraging students to imbibe values of bravery, honesty and love for the motherland.
