NAGPUR: DPS (Mihan) celebrated its 80th Independence Day with the theme '150 years of Vande Mataram and Viksit Bharat @ 2047 Youth Power'. Retired Colonel Dr. Ivan Singh, the chief guest, hoisted the tricolour flag in the presence of Principal Nidhi Yadav. Also present were Shweta Lade, Pranjali Deshmukh (Headmistress), and Indrajeet Parganiha (Bursar). Tulika Kedia, President and Pro-Vice Chairperson, and Savita Jaiswal, Director, participated online and extended good wishes.
Dr. Ivan Singh reminded students to maintain consistency in their studies and remain aware of their duties. He spoke of the selfless sacrifice made by patriots and freedom fighters' contributions to India's independence. He emphasised the importance of preserving national values.
The event featured distribution of House Trophies and Scholar Badges to students for their commitment to studies and co-curricular activities. The cultural programme included a classical dance performance and concluded with a street play (nukkad natak) that presented messages of social unity and patriotism.
