St. Ursula Girls' High School celebrates Independence Day with cultural programme

NAGPUR: St. Ursula Girls' High School and Junior College celebrated Independence Day on August 15, 2026. The programme commenced with a flag hoisting ceremony followed by the singing of the National Anthem and Zenda Geet. A pledge against narcotics was also taken by the students.

Rev. Sunil Godbole, Presbyter-in-charge at AHM 1840 Church, CNI Nagpur, was the Chief Guest. Elizabeth Tode and Jyoti Azim, senior staff members of the school, were Guests of Honour. Members of the PTA and parents of the students attended the celebrations.

Students presented patriotic dances, skits and speeches highlighting the significance of freedom and national ideals. A felicitation ceremony recognised students who secured top positions in the academic year 2024-25. The prize for the best decorated class was also awarded.

Rev. Sunil Godbole addressed the gathering about the values of freedom, unity and responsibility towards the nation. School Manager Rachna Singh and School Principal Sheetal Peter addressed the students. General Administrator Parvati Joseph, AHM Vishal Peter and the administrative staff guided the programme. Shilpa Patil proposed the vote of thanks.

The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
