NAGPUR: St. Ursula Girls' High School and Junior College held a special parent skill development session on the topic The Resilient Tree for parents of Class Ten students in collaboration with Psych Tools, Germany.
The session was part of the S.T.E.P.S. (School-wide Training & Education of Psychological Skills) programme, which has been conducted in the school for the past two years. Dr Rachit Singh, founder of Psych Tools, Germany, conceived and developed this programme to develop psychological skills in students and enable them to face the challenges of life.
Dr Rachit Singh's Self-Motivation Workshop Series formed the basis of his doctoral research conducted at Philipps University of Marburg, Germany. The S.T.E.P.S. programme includes workshops on self-motivation, stress management, prevention of bullying and mobbing, and various life skills.
In the session, Dr Rachit Singh gave parents practical guidance to support their children in maintaining self-confidence, mental resilience and emotional balance during preparation for the S.S.C. Board examination. He highlighted aspects of understanding children's emotional needs in changing circumstances and providing them with a positive environment.
Prashansa D'Lima, S.T.E.P.S. coordinator, coordinated the programme with the support of Psych Tools team members Riya, Tania, Komal and Samiksha. Class Ten teachers also played an important role in ensuring active parent participation.
