St. Ursula students celebrate World Tribal Day

NAGPUR: St. Ursula Girls High School and Junior College celebrated World Tribal Day with displays of the rich heritage, traditions and contributions of India's tribal communities.

Chief guest Dr. Rohini Iskape, a former student of the school, attended alongside guests Bevei Konah Simoen, Lena Jhimo and Methuselah Riameh from Manipur and Nagaland. Clergy and heads of the institution were also present.

The programme began with prayer and Bible reading. The Sunshine Choir presented an action song, and students offered a presentation and tribute to Birsa Munda. A welcome dance, a presentation based on tribal communities, the musical play Rapunzel, expressions of gratitude in English and Gondi language, and a tribal dance were presented.

The school's football team and students who won the Indian Talent Olympiad were honoured. Dr. Rohini Iskape and Manager Rachna Singh guided the students with messages. The Sunshine Cabinet installation ceremony was held during the event. Sunshine coordinator Ashrita Bhelwa gave the vote of thanks.

The programme concluded with a message of unity in diversity, cultural respect and preservation of tribal heritage. The event was organised under the guidance of Manager Rachna Singh, Principal Sheetal Peter, administrative staff, coordinators and the Sunshine staff.
