St. Ursula marks Marathi Gaurav Day with cultural programmes

NAGPUR: St. Ursula Girls High School held a celebration of Marathi Gaurav Day on February 27, 2026, organised by the Marathi department led by Chhaya Kapley and Smita Telmore. Deepti Johare and Namila Ingle coordinated the compering of the programme. Bible reading was presented by Sneha Waghmare and a prayer was offered by Archana Mohod.

Gloria Malgewar spoke about the significance of Marathi Day, discussing the language's history and literary heritage. Performances included a Marathi song by Anuja Mallelwar and a poem by Rajeshwari Dalal. A powada presentation, trained by Yogita Tonge and Anuja Mallelwar, depicted Marathi bravery.

Chief guest Varsha Tantarpale spoke about the importance of Marathi and using it in daily life. Headmistress Sheetal Peter stressed the need to preserve and promote the language. The celebration was held under the guidance of School Manager Rachna Singh. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Karuna Kukde.
