Bhavan's BVM SKN students celebrate Krida Diwas

NAGPUR: Bhavan’s Srikrishna Nagar Glows with the Spirit of Sportsmanship on Krida Diwas” The morning of 29th August 2026 at Bhavan’s Srikrishna Nagar, Nagpur, dawned with excitement and reverence as the school reverberated with enthusiasm to celebrate Krida Diwas. The day marked the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, the ‘Magician of Hockey,’ whose legendary contribution to Indian sports remains unforgettable. The programme commenced with the Sarva Dharma Prayer and lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Lieutenant Colonel Deepak Chandra Ganola, Sena Medal, Officer Commanding, 3 Maharashtra Engineering Company, NCC, Nagpur, alongside other dignitaries including Smt. Aarti Lanjewar, Executive Parent Teacher Association. Amidst hearty applause, the Chief Guest was presented with a shawl,shreefal,a book set containing Ramayana and Bharat Mata Sadanam, and a sapling as a token of respect and gratitude. Miss Tanisha Nagdia welcomed and introduced the chief guest. A moving tribute to Major Dhyan Chand was presented by Mast Aarush Shende. The Annual Sports Report was then presented by Master Aditya Rathi and Miss Aarika Thakre unfolding the year’s sporting calendar like a tapestry woven with hard work, perseverance, and triumphs. The auditorium resounded with applause as the Sports Achievers were felicitated with medals and certificates, honoring their hard work and passion. Their radiant smiles reflected not just personal triumph, but also the indomitable spirit of Bhavan’s. The Chief Guest, in his address, expressed joy at the school’s sporting culture, lauded its efforts to promote sports, and praised all participants. He emphasized that sports are equally important in an individual’s life and shared three key mantras with the students: be calm and work hard, never give up, and be a good human being. He urged parents to support their children in physical activities, noting that sports sharpen the mind, strengthen the body, and, alongside academics, create well-rounded individuals. The overall proceedings of the programme were conducted by Miss Ovi Khot and Miss Nakshatra Somkuwar,The ceremony drew to a graceful close with a vote of thanks proposed by Miss Pahal Lohiya.The event was successfully conducted under the guidance and leadership of respected Principal Shri Lalit Joshi Sir, incharge teacher Shri Ankit Sinha and all the sports teachers whose combined efforts made the celebration a success. The programme came to an end, but the spirit it ignited will continue to burn brightly in every student’s heart.
