Bhavan's BVM SKN Class X students participate in Aashirvachanam ceremony

NAGPUR: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Ashti, held the Aashirvachanam blessing ceremony for Class X students on January 19, 2026. The ceremony, based on the ancient Guru-Shishya tradition, involved blessing outgoing students and having them commit to values of honesty, humanity and wisdom.

Chief guest Dr. J. P. Dash, Principal Director, National Defence Production (NADP), addressed students on the importance of purpose in action. He said, 'When action is guided by empathy, it leads not only to success but to significance.'

Dignitaries present included Rajendra Purohit, Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Nagpur Kendra, Anjali Purohit, Pankaj Chande and Padmini Jog, Executive Committee Members, T. L. Raja, Joint Director, Parwati Iyer, Principal, BVM, Trimurti Nagar, and Aruna Jawade, Parent Representative. The school's Dhol-Tasha Band Group accorded guests a traditional welcome, and flower petals were showered upon them using a drone.

Class X teachers Hiba Quazi, Abira Sur, Smita Vishwakarma, Pallavi Jadhav and Manish Ashtekar read out citations about the students' strengths, achievements and talents. Principal Vandana Bisen addressed the gathering, emphasising the value of experience, expertise and intelligent effort, and administering an oath to students to imbibe and practise the values and principles of life.

Class X students paid tribute to the Motherland by placing earthen lamps on an outline map of India. Class IX students sang patriotic and motivational group songs. Dr. J. P. Dash commented on the school's planning of the Aashirvachanam practice, which draws on Indian culture and civilisation.

Parents Sangeeta Bondre, Sonali Roy, Rahul Shrivastava, Prachi Saxena and Vinod Kumar Thakur thanked the school management, Principal and teachers for educating the students. Outgoing Class X students presented carpets, curtains for the new Computer Lab, a stand for the E-Library Kiosk and five canopies as souvenirs.

Suchi Ralhan and Neeta Meshram conducted the proceedings efficiently. Vijaya Patil proposed the formal vote of thanks.
