NAGPUR: Organisation of the second 'Aqua Quest' inter-school swimming competition at Delhi Public School, Mihan
Delhi Public School, Mihan, Nagpur organised, on 6 September 2026 in its state-of-the-art swimming pool, this second inter-school swimming competition, 'Aqua Quest - The Golden Lane Challenge'. This event, a confluence of excellence in the field of water sports and institutional pride, was graced by the presence of Mr. Yash Gulhane, international long-distance swimmer and bronze medal winner in the 100 metre breaststroke at the Zirk Swim Cup 2026 in Estonia, as chief guest, and Mr. Anunay Kedia, former student of London School of Economics, as guest of honour.
On this occasion, Mr. Roshan Chaudhari, Secretary of the Aquatic Association, Nagpur, was also present.
Tulika Kedia, Chairperson and Pro-Vice Chairperson of DPS Mihan and Kamptee Road, and Director Savita Jaiswal, whose visionary leadership and guidance have played a significant role in shaping the institution, participated online in the inauguration ceremony and extended good wishes to the participating competitors and organisers. Along with this, they lauded this grand initiative as a significant moment for water sports in the region.
The event began with a warm and courteous formal welcome by Principal Nidhi Yadav. She highlighted the school's vision of academic excellence and the all-round development of students. Mr. Yash Gulhane encouraged young sportspersons to embrace sportsmanship, perseverance and the joy of competition. This competition is where confidence sprouts wings and a new stream of success flows, therefore he emphasised the importance of everyone, with determination, keeping up consistency in effort for excellence as well as maintaining physical capacity and enthusiasm.
The anchors of the competition, Raisa Dandewa and Abhijay Ghormode, presented to the audience a series of victories in sports competitions, and also stressed the school's commitment to shaping tough and resilient winners. The spirited orchestra performance presented by the school's band 'Melody Explorers' was a melodious pause; it was a very sweet tune of the unity of youth, and it mesmerised those present.
The chief guest inaugurated the competition with great pomp. More than 270 students from various schools in the city participated with immense enthusiasm in this event held at the school's Olympic swimming pool. In the age groups under 10, 12, 15 and 18 years, in the categories of butterfly, freestyle relay 4x25 and 4x50 as well as breaststroke, the swimmers displayed discipline, agility and teamwork and presented a sight of water sports competitions. Parents, teachers and guests appreciated the swimmers' confidence and enthusiasm. Medals and certificates were presented to the successful winners. Principal Nidhi Yadav thanked the water sports association of Nagpur and the sports teaching staff, through whose combined efforts this event was successful.
